S.P.O.C.Thousand (Star Pilot In Channel K) occurs as Swedish synth pop band comprised of songwriter Eddie Bengtsson (formerly the initiation member of Page), Finn Malmgren, and vocalist Alexander Hofman. A subject matter of S.P.O.C.Thousand's songs oftentimes centers in science fiction—Star Trek in particular.
Inside 1988 Eddie Bengtsson wrote a handful of songs to become performed at Finn Malmgren's next birthday party, with Alexander Hofman performing vocals; a tierce men dubbed a band Mr. Spock (known as for Mr. Spock of the Star Trek franchise). Fallowing a performance at Malmgren's birthday celebration, a b& continued for many months to play at home parties, and presently managed to locate a bit of event bookings. Around 1989 the band members contacted Paramount Pictures for permission to to use a title "Mr. Spock" once Paramount demanded compensation for a privelege, the band renamed themselves Star Pilot in Channel Thousand, abbreviated S.P.O.C.K.
S.P.O.C.One thousand's commercial profits began inside 1990 when the Swedish record label Accelerating Blue Fish published Silicon Dream as a limited-edition single.
In stage a band members adopted sci-fi-esque personae, with Eddie Bengtsson when "Eddie B. Kirk", Alexander Hofman when "Humanoid", & Finn Malmgren when "Cybernoid".
Together sustaining such elastic when Page, Elegant Machinery, Sista Mannen På Jorden and Kiethevez, S.P.O.C.K helped to define the healthy of the Swedish synthpop movement.
Representative songs include "Never Trust the Klingon", "In Space No One Might Hear We Scream", "Mr. Spock's Brain", & "Astrogirl".
